Liquid-Cooling a TE Connectivity 800V DC Busbar and More from the Wiwynn Booth
At Computex 2026, Supermicro showcased its Super AI Station, a DGX Station system featuring NVIDIA’s flagship GB300 accelerator. Priced around $125,000, it is one of the most expensive desktop computers available and the only way to get the GB300 in a non-server form factor. The system was displayed with a plexiglass side panel, revealing its internal design. The core of the Super AI Station is NVIDIA’s Grace Blackwell GB300 chip, combining a 72-core Grace CPU with a Blackwell GPU. To manage its 1,600-watt TDP, Supermicro employs liquid cooling with cold plates covering all critical components and a radiator loop. The system includes 496GB of LPDDR5X memory across four SOCAMMs for the CPU. The Blackwell GPU is de-rated, with 7 of 8 HBM3e stacks enabled, providing 252GB of GPU memory and 7.1TB/s bandwidth. Storage options include four PCIe Gen5 x4 M.2 2280 slots; the showcase unit used 480GB Micron 7450 Gen4 drives. An optional NVIDIA RTX PRO graphics card is installed because the GB300 is compute-optimized and not graphics-capable, enabling display output beyond basic BMC video. Two additional PCIe x16 (x8 electrical) slots are available for expansion. Networking is powered by NVIDIA’s ConnectX-8, offering two 400GbE QSFP ports for high-bandwidth connections between systems. The system’s radiator is placed at the front, with three fans pulling air through it in a front-to-back configuration. This design also supports rack mounting as a 5U server, making it suitable for both desktop and rack environments. Front I/O includes two 5Gbps USB 3 ports; rear I/O has four 10Gbps USB 3 ports but no USB-C. NVIDIA’s DGX Station is the premier choice for local development and testing on a GB300 system, though it requires a dedicated power circuit. The systems ship with NVIDIA’s custom Ubuntu-based DGX OS, and Windows versions under the “DGX Station for Windows” branding are expected later this year.
