Building a Dense Agentic AI CPU Rack Today
Minisforum unveiled the MS-03 small form factor PC at Computex, succeeding its popular MS-01. The MS-03 retains the original chassis design but upgrades internals with Intel’s Core Ultra Series 3 (Panther Lake) H-series mobile processors. This marks a significant update from the MS-01’s 13th Gen Core platform, incorporating multiple generations of new technology. Key features include four networking ports: two 10GbE SFP+ and two 2.5GbE RJ45 jacks, plus a low-profile PCIe slot (now PCIe Gen5 x4 electrical). The rear offers two USB-C ports (USB4 40Gbps via Thunderbolt 4 controllers), two USB-A (10Gbps), and an HDMI 2.1. Front ports include one USB-A (10Gbps) and two USB 2.0. The system supports DDR5-7200 memory, Wi-Fi 7 (BE211 adapter), Bluetooth 6, and an NPU for AI capabilities. All three M.2 slots now get at least PCIe Gen4, with two at Gen5 x4. TDP increases from 60W to 70W. Minisforum decided against using the X7/X9 Panther Lake SKUs to preserve more PCIe lanes for expandability. The MS-03 made its first international appearance at Computex after a Chinese launch earlier in the year. Shipping begins later this month; pricing is unannounced. While the update brings substantial processor improvements, some critics note that retaining 2.5GbE RJ45 ports and limited front USB connectivity may feel outdated.
